WorldSkills 2013 - bidding stakeholders

The German bid is led by SkillsGermany, the national skills organisation and Germany’s official representative to WorldSkills International. SkillsGermany has a mandate from the Federal Government, represented by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

The key stakeholders in the bid for WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 are the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), the Free State of Saxony, the City of Leipzig, and the Leipziger Messe (Trade Fair and Exhibition Centre) in addition to numerous prestigious companies and associations, chambers of commerce and industry, craftsmen chambers, educational institutes, and leading political and economic personalities.

Vocational competitions and WorldSkills have been a key element of vocational training in Germany since 1953. Trade and industry associations, educational institutions and councils are in constant dialog and actively involved in the further development of vocational education and training.

The entire organization of the Competition is designed to ensure – in collaboration with the WorldSkills organization and Experts throughout the world – that the Competition is prepared and conducted to meet state-of-the-art criteria and achieve the greatest benefit for all.
