Travel by air
Leipzig Airport links travellers and frequent flyer to the world. Leipzig-Halle airport offers direct connections to major European cities. And hubs in Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich offer connecting flights all over ther world.

The Airport Express leaves from right under the terminal, shuttling between the airport and Leipzig main station and stopping at the new Exhibition Centre. Travel time is just 8 minutes

Travel by rail
Leipzigers regard their main station as a gateway to the world. It is, after all, the largest terminal station in Europe. Located majestically in the centre of the city, Leipzig main station is traditionally regarded as one of the main hubs in the German rail network.

Rapid transit
Leipzig has a dense network of trams, rapid urban transit and bus lines. The journey from Leipzig main station to the Competition site takes 5 minutes by regional train or 15 minutes by tram. The City of Leipzig will ensure that all participants and visitors are transported swiftly and safely to their destinations. Whether from the airport to accommodation, to and from official receptions and ceremonies, or daily travel to and from the Competition – we will get you there.

Service and support infrastructure – such as welcome desks and guides at the airport and main stations – will also be provided.

Infrastructure
Leipzig’s public transport company LVB operates one of the densest public transport networks in Germany. 320 kilometres of track connect more than 500 stops in the city’s tram network, complemented by an additional 600 bus stops. A digital transport centre monitors the most important connections and updates tram stop displays.

Mobile traffic control systems match tram frequency to actual passenger numbers – at any time.

Leipzig’s public transport company (LVB)
It takes 19 minutes by tram from the Central Station in the city centre to the terminal stop at “Messegelände” (Exhibition Centre). The trams run every 10 minutes and take visitors almost to the very doors of the western entrance of the Exhibition Centre (Glass Hall) and Congress Center Leipzig (CCL).

Regional railway
There is a half-hourly regional railway (RB) connection from Central Station to Leipziger Messe, which takes only 6 minutes for the journey to the Exhibition Centre (get off at “Leipzig – Messe”). From there, it is a pleasant 10-minute stroll to the western entrance (Glass Hall) and the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL).
